Conditioning improved for Year 2
Coach Matt LaFleur said Saturday that Rodgers is "in much better shape" heading into his second NFL season, Peter Bukowski of The Leap reports.
Analysis: Rodgers, a 2021 third-round pick, only filled a depth role as a rookie (eight targets in 16 appearances), but he reportedly looks leaner and more explosive in the early days of training camp. At the least, Rodgers is facing increased opportunity. With Davante Adams no longer in the mix, Rodgers is competing for touches in a wide receiver corps headlined by Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb along with rookies Christian Watson (knee) and Romeo Doubs. If Rodgers can continue to live up…read more

Fills bit role in rookie season
Rodgers was targeted eight times and caught four passes for 45 yards over 16 appearances in the 2021 season. He also had one carry for 11 yards, returned 20 punts for 166 yards and took back 11 kicks for 199 yards.
Analysis: Rodgers was selected by the Packers in the third round of last year's draft, and it was thought he would have a chance to contribute as a rookie. However, he was buried on the depth chart for most of the campaign and was limited mainly to return work. Rodgers could play a bigger role in Year 2, but his prospects will be uncertain until it is determined which receivers will be back in Green Bay in 2022 and which ones will head elsewhere.

Clears COVID protocols
Rodgers was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Analysis: Rodgers hasn't played much of a role on offense this season, but he has contributed in the return game. Now healthy, Rodgers should resume that role Sunday against the Lions.

Lands on COVID list
Green Bay placed Rodgers on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday after he tested positive for the virus, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Rodgers returned two kickoffs for 44 yards and one punt for nine yards while not playing an offensive snap during Saturday's win over the Browns. He's now in the health and safety protocols, and his availability for Week 17 is in question.

Still not seeing many snaps
Rodgers had one reception for seven yards and one carry for 11 yards in Thursday's 24-21 victory over the Cardinals. He also returned two punts for 12 yards.
Analysis: With the Packers down their top three wideouts Thursday, Rodgers was on the field for a season-high 16 snaps, and that allowed him to see three targets in the passing game and a season-high two touches on offense. While the rookie third-round pick made a couple positive plays, he was only on the field for 22 percent of the snaps and finished fourth among Packers wideouts in that department. Rodgers could continue getting chances to make plays here or there, but his playing time percentage…read more

Snags second reception
Rodgers caught his only target for 14 yards in Sunday's 24-14 victory over the Bears. He also returned two punts for 16 yards.
Analysis: Rodgers has not had many opportunities to contribute in his rookie season, but he made a couple key plays Sunday, picking up good yardage on a punt return in the second quarter and also picking up a first down on a short pass in the third. Despite the positives, he figures to remain in a bit role for the Packers.

No offensive snaps Week 2
Rodgers did not play a snap on offense in Monday's 35-17 victory over the Lions. He did return a punt for two yards.
Analysis: Rodgers played a few snaps and caught a pass in the Packers' Week 1 loss, but he only handled the punt-return duties in Week 2. With at least four veteran receivers ahead of him on the depth chart, Rodgers could remain limited to special teams for the time being.

One reception in debut
Rodgers was targeted once and caught one pass for 19 yards in Sunday's 38-3 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Rodgers played only 15 snaps in Sunday's contest, but he did manage to record his first reception as a professional. His snap count tied him with fellow reserve wideouts Randall Cobb and Malik Taylor but was far behind the Packers' top three wide receivers, and the bulk of those came late in the game. As such, don't consider the rookie more than a depth option for the time being.

Plays into fourth quarter
Rodgers caught six of seven targets for 41 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to Buffalo.
Analysis: The stat line is respectable, but it's worth noting that Rodgers had five of his six catches with the third-string offense, including three on the final drive of the game. The rookie third-round pick doesn't appear likely to get many snaps on offense Week 1 at New Orleans, with Randall Cobb presumably taking most of the slot work.

Solid showing Saturday
Rodgers caught four of five targets for 31 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Jets.
Analysis: With the Packers resting most of their starters, Rodgers saw plenty of snaps with the first-team offense but didn't post particularly great numbers with third-string QB Kurt Benkert under center. The 2021 third-round pick should have a spot on the Week 1 roster, but Green Bay's depth at wide receiver could make it tough for him to get much attention from Aaron Rodgers.

Nondescript debut
Rodgers was targeted four times and caught three passes for 15 yards in the Packers' preseason opener against the Texans. He also returned one punt for 14 yards.
Analysis: Rodgers did not do a lot in his first appearance as a pro, but he did get a chance to show what he could do on both offense and special teams. With Randall Cobb back in the fold and three other receivers ahead of him on the depth chart, it seems unlikely Rodgers will play anything more than a situational role on offense early on. However, his spot on the roster is secure, and he is in line to be the Packers' primary punt returner.

Could contribute in two phases
Rodgers could play a role both in the Packers offense and on special teams, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
Analysis: Per Schneidman, Rodgers is "a natural slot receiver" and "can also serve as a gadget piece out of the backfield on jet sweeps, reverses and other motion action," so his skill set should complement the more experienced receivers on the roster. It's too early to tell exactly what type of snap count Rodgers is looking at in his rookie season, but he'll have a chance to open the season in the No. 4 spot on the depth chart. While his role on offense is unsettled, it seems likely Rodgers will be a…read more
