Contributes as rookie
Wright finished 2020 with 27 receptions for 197 yards on 35 targets, logging 347 snaps on offense and 83 on special teams.
Analysis: The undrafted rookie out of Temple got most of his playing time in the first half of the season, manning the slot while Steven Sims dealt with a toe injury. Wright peaked with 59 yards in a Week 10 loss to Detroit, catching just five passes over the final seven weeks of the regular season. He did get a dozen snaps and one target in the playoff loss to Tampa Bay, while fellow rookie Antonio Gandy-Golden (a fourth-round pick) was a healthy scratch. Even so, Wright will need to battle for his…read more

Catches a pair of passes
Wright caught two passes for 15 yards on two targets in Sunday's 20-15 loss to Seattle.
Analysis: Wright played 28 percent of offensive snaps, fourth among the team's wide receivers. Terry McLaurin and Cam Sims handled every-down roles, while Wright split the No. 3 role with Steven Sims (35 percent) and Robert Foster (12 percent). Each of Wright, Sims and Foster drew two targets, and they combined for four receptions and 35 yards. None of the bunch can be trusted for fantasy purposes as Washington heads into Week 16 against Carolina.

Catches only target
Wright caught his lone target for nine yards during Sunday's win over the 49ers.
Analysis: The 23-year-old also threw an incomplete pass during the third quarter on an attempted trick play. Wright went off with six catches for 59 yards Week 10, but he has only three catches for 21 yards over the past four games.

Lone reception Monday
Wright recorded one reception for five yards across 29 offensive snaps in Monday's win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Wright did see an uptick in offensive snaps compared to the past few weeks but didn't have much production to show for it. He now has 24 receptions for 173 yards through the first 10 games of his rookie campaign.

Minor offensive role Week 11
Wright caught his only target for seven yards during Sunday's win over the Bengals.
Analysis: The 23-year-old set career highs with six catches for 59 yards Week 10, but he was minimally involved in the passing game versus Cincinnati. The return of Steven Sims from injured reserve likely limits Wright's outlook going forward to that of a depth receiver.

Avoids inactive list
Wright (illness) is active for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Wright had been listed as questionable after the illness prevented him from practicing Friday, but he apparently made enough progress over the last couple of days to gain clearance for the Week 11 contest. While serving as Washington's No. 4 receiver, Wright has been limited to playing a fewer than a third of the offensive snaps the past two weeks, but he's still managed to turn nine targets into nine receptions for 89 yards between those contests.

Looking good for Sunday
Wright (illness), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, is expected to play, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: A late addition to Washington's injury report after falling ill Friday, Wright's ailment apparently isn't serious enough to keep him sidelined for the Week 11 matchup. Assuming he avoids the inactive list ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, Wright should work as Washington's No. 4 receiver behind Terry McLaurin, Cam Sims and Steven Sims.

Deemed questionable for Sunday
Wright (illness) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Bengals, Kyle Stackpole of Washington's official site reports.
Analysis: Wright popped up on the injury report Friday with an illness that's not connected to COVID-19 at this time. The 23-year-old wide receiver is coming off the best game of his career, as he hauled in six passes for 59 yards against the Lions. His status could end up being a game-time decision. Steven Sims and Jeff Badet are due for more reps if Wright sits out.

Demoted behind Cam Sims
Wright caught each of his three targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Giants, playing 30 percent of offensive snaps and losing a fumble on a punt return.
Analysis: The receiving numbers weren't terrible, but Cam Sims (74 percent snap share) worked ahead of Wright on offense, while Steven Sims replaced him on punt returns after the first-quarter fumble. This all happened with Dontrelle Inman (hamstring) inactive, so Wright could be in danger of a demotion to the practice squad at some point. For the time being, expect Wright to work in a part-time role Week 10 at Detroit.

Puts in full practice
Wright (shoulder) practiced in full Thursday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: After Wednesday's limited showing, Wright is on the cusp of his first appearance since Week 6 following Thursday's development. While Washington is anticipating the return of Steven Sims (toe) from IR, Dontrelle Inman (hamstring) made a sudden appearance on Thursday's injury report as a non-participant, so the breakdown of the receiving corps bears watching ahead of Sunday's game versus the Giants.

Limited in practice
Wright (shoulder) was listed as limited on Wednesday's practice report, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Near the end of a Week 6 loss to the Giants, Wright appeared to get banged up and eventually was unable to practice the ensuing week. A shoulder injury was to blame, and he didn't play in Washington's subsequent contest before the team's Week 8 bye. His ability to get on the field Wednesday indicates he's making inroads on a return to action, but ultimately, Friday's injury report may clear up whether or not Wright is ready to play in Sunday's rematch with the Giants.

Won't play Sunday
Wright (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Dallas, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: With Antonio Gandy-Golden (hamstring) also out, Washington will turn to Cam Sims or Robert Foster for the No. 3 receiver role. Terry McLaurin has been the only consistent pass catcher on the team this season, so it'll be a surprise if either of Sims or Foster gets more than a handful of targets. Wright averaged 3.3 catches for 18 yards over the past four weeks, playing at least 29 snaps in every game.

Misses practice again
Wright (shoulder) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Coach Ron Rivera said Wednesday that Wright was looking doubtful to play Week 7, and little on that front has changed with the wideout failing to practice for a second straight day. Unless he's able to fit in some on-field work at Friday's session, Wright seems destined to be listed as out or doubtful ahead of Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

Looking doubtful
Coach Ron Rivera suggested Wright (shoulder) isn't likely to play in Sunday's game against Dallas, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Analysis: Rivera said both Wright and Antonio Gandy-Golden (hamstring) will be held out of practice this week. The coach also mentioned that the injuries would give the team a chance to look at some other young players, so it sounds like both Wright and Gandy-Golden are trending toward doubtful or out designations heading into the weekend. Cam Sims and Robert Foster are the healthy depth options behind starting wideouts Terry McLaurin and Dontrelle Inman.

Dealing with shoulder injury
Wright didn't practice Wednesday due to a shoulder injury, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Wright sustained the injury on the final drive of Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Giants. Fellow wideout Antonio Gandy-Golden (hamstring) and tight end Logan Thomas (neck) also came out of the game with injuries, potentially leaving quarterback Kyle Allen with a limited pass-catching group for a Week 7 matchup with Dallas. The team could turn to Cam Sims alongside Terry McLaurin and Dontrelle Inman for three-receiver sets.

Banged up in fourth quarter
Wright appeared to suffer an injury near the end of Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Giants, Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Wright was removed from the game with about 70 seconds remaining after he picked up six yards on a short reception. He finished with four catches for 25 yards on five targets, while replacement Cam Sims caught a 22-yard touchdown pass shortly after taking Wright's place. Sims could have a regular role in three-wide sets if Wright isn't ready for Week 7 against Dallas.

Held to three yards
Wright caught his lone target for a three-yard gain in Sunday's 30-10 loss to the Rams.
Analysis: Wright handled a top-three role at wide receiver for a third straight week, but he still hasn't topped five targets or 24 yards in a game. Even with a better matchup on tap Week 6 against the Giants, he won't be a viable fantasy play outside of the very deepest of leagues.

Catches four passes
Wright caught four of five targets for 20 yards in a 31-17 loss to Baltimore on Sunday.
Analysis: Wright played 82 percent of offensive snaps, up from 45 percent the previous week. His increased role was largely tied to Steven Sims (toe) being inactive, but it is possible he continues to get work in the offense even after his teammate returns. It isn't yet clear if Sims will be back for Week 5 against the Rams, but we do know Washington will have a new quarterback, as they benched Dwayne Haskins in favor of Kyle Allen.

Draws six targets
Wright caught four of six targets for 24 yards while playing 45 percent of offensive snaps in Sunday's 34-20 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: The targets were tied for third most on the team, and he also had a rush attempt for six yards. Wright's involvement was a surprise, as he strictly played special teams Week 1 and didn't play at all Week 2. His increased role may have been related to Steven Sims' toe injury, with Sims dropping to 35 percent snap share and zero targets after seeing eight targets on 83 and 91 percent of snaps the previous weeks. Wright remains off the radar for all but the deepest of fantasy leagues, but the…read more
