Gets original-round tender
The Chiefs gave Pringle an original-round tender Wednesday, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: The tender is a one-year contract for $2.18 million, with the Chiefs getting the right to match any offer sheet he might receive from another team. Pringle was undrafted coming out of college, so there's no compensation involved if he signs a deal with another team and the Chiefs decline to match. Pringle could be looking at a larger role in Kansas City in 2021, considering teammates Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson are scheduled for free agency at the start of the new league year Wednesday.

Getting RFA tender
The Chiefs will give Pringle a restricted free-agent tender Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Pringle could take on a larger role in 2021 if the Chiefs lose Sammy Watkins and/or Demarcus Robinson in free agency. Kansas City's top wideouts currently under contract are Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman and now Pringle.

Draws five targets in AFC title game
Pringle corralled three of five targets for 22 yards Sunday in the Chiefs' 38-24 win over the Bills in the AFC Championship Game.
Analysis: Pringle played a surprising 80 percent of the offensive snaps in the contest, his highest rate since Week 17 against the Chargers, when the Chiefs were resting several of their key offensive playmakers. Though Pringle was effective enough as a depth option at receiver, he'll likely see a major dip in his snap share in the Feb. 7 Super Bowl matchup with the Buccaneers, as the Chiefs are expected to return Sammy Watkins (calf) for that contest.

Catches touchdown Sunday
Pringle caught four of six targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-21 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Pringle grew in importance with teammates Tyreek Hill (hamstring), Sammy Watkins (calf) and Travis Kelce (rest) all not playing Sunday, and he opened the scoring with a three-yard touchdown in the first quarter. With four receptions in total, including a long of 31 yards, Pringle was able to put together his best performance of the campaign, but he should return to a depth role when Kansas City returns its full stable of offensive stars in the playoffs.

Activated from IR
The Chiefs activated Pringle (ankle) from IR on Saturday.
Analysis: Pringle's ankle injury caused him to miss three contests, but he'll be back in action for Sunday's game against the Saints. He'll resume working as a depth receiver, a role which Pringle has translated into nine catches for 108 yards on the season.

Returns to practice
Pringle (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday after being designated to return from IR, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Kansas City has a three-week window to place Pringle back on the active roster, and the receiver could suit up as soon as Sunday's game against the Saints if he looks ready in practice. Prior to sustaining his injury in Week 11 against the Raiders, Pringle chipped in nine catches for 108 yards in a depth role.

Moves to injured reserve
Pringle (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star reports.
Analysis: Pringle sustained the ankle injury during Sunday's win over the Raiders and will be sidelined for at least the next three games. Tyreek Hill or Mecole Hardman could fill in on kick returns for the Chiefs in the meantime.

Hurts ankle on SNF
Pringle (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Analysis: Pringle caught three of four targets for 17 yards and returned a trio of kickoffs for 67 yards before picking up the injury in the second half. The deep Kansas City skill position group should be able to weather Pringle's absence if he's unable to work his way back into the game.

Absent from box score
Pringle was not targeted during Sunday's game versus the Panthers.
Analysis: Pringle was unable to follow up a season-best three grabs for 22 yards last Sunday versus the Jets with another solid showing Sunday. He saw his snap count reduced from 56 percent last week to just 31 percent against Carolina and is likely set to see that minimized further when Sammy Watkins (hamstring) gets the all-clear.

Continues to see work
Pringle racked up three catches on four targets for 22 yards Sunday versus the Jets.
Analysis: Pringle has played more than 50 percent of the offensive snaps in each of the last two weeks thanks to his abilities as a blocker in the run game. That doesn't make him a viable fantasy option in most leagues, given his six receptions on the season. He should continue to provide depth at the wide receiver position but is unlikely to see significant targets unless a laundry list of injuries hits the group.

Scores first TD of season
Pringle didn't catch a pass Sunday versus the Broncos but did return a kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown.
Analysis: Pringle used the snowy field in Denver to his advantage, making a quick cut that left two Broncos defenders in the dust as he sped past the kicker to take it the distance. He also found his way onto the field for 61 percent of the snaps, ranking third among wideouts ahead of Mecole Hardman. Unfortunately, he didn't draw a target on the day and figures to see his role reduced in the coming weeks once Sammy Watkins (hamstring) is given the green light to return.

Makes first notable impact of 2020
Pringle snared both of his targets for 46 yards Monday versus the Bills.
Analysis: Pringle saw a jump in his playing time with Sammy Watkins (hamstring) sidelined Monday, playing 38 percent of the offensive snaps after playing no more than 14 percent in any previous contest. He could continue to see boosted snap counts until Watkins is cleared to return but remains low enough in the pecking order for targets to remain off the fantasy radar in most formats.

In good spot to make roster
Pringle is in the lead for a starting gunner spot on special teams, Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest reports.
Analysis: Pringle's contributions on special teams could be a key factor in landing him a roster spot for the Chiefs yet again as wide receiver depth. Based on his positioning as a starting gunner, he looks to be in a good spot to keep a job on the 53-man roster.

On practice field
Pringle (hamstring) returned to practice Friday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Analysis: Pringle stayed off the field for nearly an entire week, but he's back in action preparing to defend the Super Bowl title. The 26-year-old wideout is slated as the team's No. 5 wide receiver, and he'll make most of his contributions on special teams.

Nursing hamstring
Pringle was absent from Saturday's practice due to a hamstring issue, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
Analysis: This is the first news regarding a hamstring issue for Pringle and the severity is not known at this time. When healthy, he is expected to primarily provide depth at wide receiver. The 26-year-old hauled in 19 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown in 2019.

Posts 12 catches in 2019
Pringle reeled in 12 of his 16 targets for 170 yards and a touchdown during the 2019 season.
Analysis: More than half of Pringle's production came in Week 5 versus the Colts, when he logged a season-high 49 offensive snaps and hauled in six passes for 104 yards and his first and only NFL touchdown to date. He remains under contract through the 2020 season, but Pringle has no money guaranteed, potentially forcing him to lay claim to his roster spot in camp again. He should have a leg up this time around with a full year on the roster under his belt.

Targeted once
Pringle caught his only target for a 14-yard gain during Sunday's 23-16 win over New England.
Analysis: Pringle's reception came on his only offensive snap of the game. The young WR has single-digit or no offensive snaps in five of his last six games and has just two catches for 23 yards during that span. He's a long way from Week 5's six-catch outing and should not be on your fantasy radar -- especially with Patrick Mahomes (hand) dinged up, the rest of the Chiefs' receiving corps healthy and Denver's sixth-ranked pass defense coming to town Sunday.

Snaps catchless streak
Pringle caught his only target of Monday's 24-17 win over the Chargers for a nine-yard gain.
Analysis: Monday's reception ended a four-game catchless streak for Pringle, who still has more catches in Week 5 (six) than the rest of the season combined (five). He had just three offensive snaps total in the three games leading into Monday after the Chiefs' receiving corps returned to health, but he managed to reach 11 offensive snaps against the Chargers largely because Tyreek Hill (hamstring) made an early exit. If Hill's injury is still a factor after the team's Week 12 bye, Pringle's role on…read more
