Breida is expected to sit out 1-to-2 weeks after aggravating a low-ankle sprain during Monday's loss to the Seahawks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Breida is awaiting the results of a second opinion but appears to be trending toward an absence Sunday against the Cardinals. Having said that, he gutted out multiple injuries last season en route to recording more than 1,000 yards from scrimmage in 14 games, so it wouldn't be shocking if he eventually gets the all-clear from the 49ers' medical staff. Breida's status should be watched closely as the week goes on to see if he's able to do just that.

To get second opinion on ankle
Breida will go for a second opinion on his ankle, but initial reports are that the injury isn't too serious, but he may still need to miss time to let it heal, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.
Analysis: The good news is that it doesn't sound like the type of injury that will force fantasy owners to cut ties with Breida. The bad news is that his prospects for Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals look bleak. We will wait for the second medical opinion to come in, but it sounds like Raheem Mostert and/or Jeff Wilson may be teaming up with Tevin Coleman this week if Breida is unable to go.

Aggravates ankle in loss
Breida (ankle) ran 10 times for 18 yards before leaving Monday's loss to Seattle with an ankle injury.
Analysis: Breida carried a questionable tag for an ankle injury heading into the contest, and it appears that he re-injured that same ankle. The speedy back is sure to undergo an MRI this week to determine the severity of the injury. If Breida is unable to go, Raheem Mostert would enter the two-man rotation in a soft matchup against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Questionable to return

Analysis: Back-to-back limited practices would seemingly put Breida on track to play in Monday's divisional battle with the Seahawks. Analysis: Breida logged a similar number of reps as fullback Kyle Juszczyk (knee) and tackles Joe Staley (fibula) and Mike McGlinchey (knee), a trio that will boost the rushing attack if any of them return to action Monday against the Seahawks. For much of the last two seasons, Breida has played through injuries, so he's a good bet to be available again Week 10. In the end, though, Saturday's injury report will reveal his odds to suit up.
