Sacks in consecutive weeks
Beasley recorded two solo tackles, including a sack during Sunday's 29-3 win against the Panthers.
Analysis: Beasley also picked up a pass deflection in Sunday's win. For a second time this season, he has sacks in consecutive weeks, giving Beasley four total on the year. Through 10 games in 2019, Beasley has 25 tackles and continues to be a boom-or-bust fantasy option.

Revives vintage Beasley
Beasley recorded four total tackles, including a sack and a half during Sunday's 26-9 win against the Saints.
Analysis: It was the potential for a performance such as this that motivated general manager Thomas Dimitroff to pick up Beasley's $12.8 million fifth-year option in March. Since leading the NFL with 15.5 sacks in 2016, Beasley entered Sunday's contest against New Orleans with just 11.5 sacks over his preceding 38 appearances combined. Sunday he chipped in a quarter of the defense's production in that department, as Atlanta tallied six sacks and held the Saints to just three field goals on the afternoon.…read more

Solid outing not enough
Beasley recorded three tackles and a half-sack in Sunday's loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Beasley found the sack column for a second-straight week, but it wasn't enough to help his team come away with a win against the host Colts. He and the Falcons defense, through three weeks, are allowing an average of 25 points per game and need to make changes ahead of a Week 4 matchup with Tennesee (1-2).

Tallies first sack of 2019
Beasley collected just one tackle during Sunday's 24-20 win against the Eagles, a sack of Carson Wentz.
Analysis: He still isn't accounting for a high volume of stops against the run, but Beasley's sack is a kernel of hope for what the Falcons hope will be a much improved pass rush compared to what was offered in a disappointing defensive campaign last year. Coming into Sunday night's showdown, Beasley had compiled just 10 sacks over his previous 31 regular-season games, after logging an NFL-best 15.5 sacks and earning All-Pro honors during 2016. His potential resurgence, along with continued development…read more

Sights set high for 2019
Beasley suggested that racking up 10-plus sacks is an important goal for him headed into 2019, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports. "For me, it is about double-digit sacks because I'm not just a guy, I'm a good player," Beasley said. "For me and the person that I am... that's what I need to do."
Analysis: Since accounting for two more sacks (15.5) than any other player in the NFL in 2016, Beasley has collected just 10 sacks over 30 regular-season outings, while finishing no higher than third in sacks on his own team in either 2017 or 2018. When inspecting the last two years as a whole, the outlook is somewhat bleak -- but Beasley started to heat up late last year. He had only two sacks over a 17-game span between Week 10 of 2017 and Week 10 of 2018, but rebounded with four sacks over his final…read more

To attend mandatory minicamp
Beasley said Friday that he will "definitely be there" when the Falcons open up mandatory minicamp June 11, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Head coach Dan Quinn was not thrilled that Beasley sat out voluntary workouts, saying that "there's nothing like on-field-stuff" in preparation for the regular season. Better late than never, though, and Quinn is enthusiastic to work hands-on with Beasley now that he's assumed responsibilities as the team's defensive play caller. Beasley's fifth-year option of $12.8 million was picked up by Atlanta on March 13, as the organization waits with bated breath for the 26-year-old defensive end to…read more

Fifth-year option guaranteed
Beasley's $12.8 million contract for 2019 became fully guaranteed Wednesday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Beasley, who paced the NFL with 15.5 sacks in 2016, hasn't even managed two-thirds of that total over his last two seasons combined (10). The Atlanta brass still believed in the 2015 first-round pick's talent enough to bring him back for another year, but his form the past two seasons makes it difficult to relying on him re-emerging as a top-flight IDP. Takk McKinley now ranks as the clear No. 1 pass rusher in Atlanta.

Likely to remain in Atlanta
Head coach Dan Quinn said that the Falcons plan to retain Beasley on the roster for 2019, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports. Quinn explained that keeping the 2016 NFL sack champion in Atlanta is "the plan right now," and that "it's going to take really good preparation and really consistent play" for Beasley to once again become a difference-maker on the defensive side.
Analysis: There's been consideration that Atlanta is overpaying the slumping Beasley, who is in line to make $12.8 million in base salary this season despite only having compiled 10 sacks over his past 30 appearances. The Falcons addressed a number of other roster holes last offseason, overlooking pass rush as an area of need and finishing the year with only 37 sacks (eighth-worst) as a result. Quinn and the Falcons' brass appear to be standing by the 26-year-old defensive end for the time being, as the…read more

Adds another sack
Beasley recorded three solo tackles, one sack and two passes defensed during Sunday's win over the Cardinals.
Analysis: Beasley has now accounted for at least one sack in consecutive games for the first time all season, having also gotten to the quarterback in Week 14 at Green Bay. Beasley's five sacks in 2018 match his 2017 total through 14 games played.

Posts sack Sunday
Beasley recorded two tackles (one solo), including a sack, in Sunday's loss to Green Bay.
Analysis: Beasley's sack Sunday pushes his season total to four. He's had another disappointing year after a 2016 campaign that saw him tally 15.5 sacks. Looking ahead, Beasley and the Falcons will play the Cardinals in Week 15.

Scoop and score in Week 13
Beasley accounted for two tackles and a 74-yard fumble return for a touchdown during Sunday's 26-16 loss to Baltimore.
Analysis: Beasley's zig-zagging scoop and score early in the second quarter provided him with his second career touchdown, as well as his first fumble recovery since 2016. Still, it's been a largely maladroit season for Beasley, who entered the year with aspirations to return to previous All-Pro form. Outside of a breakout two-sack performance against Dallas in Week 11, Beasley has accounted for only one sack and 10 tackles all season. Upcoming next is a matchup against a Green Bay offensive line that…read more

Turns back clock to 2016
Beasley collected two sacks and three combined tackles during Sunday's 22-19 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Following a six-game drought, Beasley got back in the sack column Sunday by dragging Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott to the ground twice for a total of minus-17 yards. Prior to his Week 11 breakout, Beasley had averaged one sack every 3.83 games since the start of the 2017 season. This after averaging nearly one sack per game (15.5 in 16 appearances) and being named a First-Team All-Pro in 2016. Atlanta desperately hopes to get the best out of Beasley and this Falcons pass rush Thursday night,…read more

Struggling to get after the passer
Beasley has recorded seven tackles and one sack through seven appearances on the season.
Analysis: Since pacing the NFL with 15.5 sacks during 2016, Beasley has managed only six sacks over his past 22 games, while second-year man Takkarist McKinley appears to be emerging as the team's most consistent pass rusher. The two defensive ends will match up Sunday against a Washington offensive line that has allowed the eighth-fewest sacks (13) this season, though the Redskins will be without the services of stalwart left tackle Trent Williams (thumb).
