Joins practice squad
Roberts was signed to Green Bay's practice squad Monday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Roberts was cut loose earlier in the day by Carolina, but it didn't long to find a new home. According to Demovsky, the plan is to initially sign him to the practice squad, though given the Packers' lack of competent receiver depth, it wouldn't be surprising to see Roberts elevated to the 53-man roster at some point.

Cut loose by Panthers
The Panthers released Roberts on Monday, Jonathan M. Alexander of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Analysis: Roberts suited up for each of Carolina's first seven games, averaging 13.3 snaps on offense per contests and totaling four receptions for 31 yards. The 29-year-old receiver has been pushed out of the depth role by the likes of Brandon Zylstra, Pharoh Cooper and Marken Michel, so Roberts will look to add depth at receiver elsewhere.

Set for increased role
With Curtis Samuel (knee) inactive, Roberts is set for an increased role, David Newton of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Samuel was a surprise scratch with the knee issue, so Roberts will assume his third-string role. Roberts has seen just six targets this season, hauling in four passes for 31 yards. He'll look to take some of the attention and burden off starters Robby Anderson and DJ Moore against the stingy Chicago pass defense Sunday.

Hauls in two passes
Roberts caught two of three targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 21-16 win over the Chargers.
Analysis: Roberts moved the sticks with a 12-yard reception on Carolina's second drive, helping set up a field goal for the game's opening points. Although he made a minimal impact after that, Roberts at least featured on one-third of his team's offensive snaps, a role that should lend itself to occasional catches in upcoming weeks as well.

Catches one pass
Roberts caught one of his two targets for five yards in Sunday's 34-30 loss to the Raiders.
Analysis: Roberts played just five offensive snaps, so him being targeted on two of those was noteworthy. Nonetheless, with Brandon Zylstra featuring for eight plays, Roberts actually placed fifth among Carolina's wideouts in snaps, a reality that should significantly restrict expectations for him ahead of Week 2's game in Tampa Bay.

Dodges injury report
Roberts (concussion) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report, Myles Simmons of the Panthers' official site reports.
Analysis: Roberts suffered a concussion during training camp, but his current absence from the injury report is an indication that he's fully cleared the league's five-step protocol. He's in line to handle a depth receiver role against the Raiders on Sunday.

Making progress
Roberts (concussion) was spotted at Thursday's practice wearing a green non-contact jersey, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Roberts isn't yet cleared for contact, but his return to practice in a restricted capacity is indicative that he's making progress through the five-step concussion protocol. He should be in the mix for the No. 4 receiver gig behind D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson and Curtis Samuel when healthy.

Lands on concussion protocol
Roberts was placed in concussion protocol Saturday, Myles Simmons of the Panthers' official site reports.
Analysis: Roberts, who joined the Panthers on a one-year deal in the offseason, was expected to provide some quality depth behind the big-name trio of D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson and Curtis Samuel. Even if Roberts were to miss some time, it's unlikely he'll lose spot on the 53-man roster with castoffs such as Keith Kirkwood and Pharoh Cooper behind him on the depth chart.

Leaving Baltimore for Carolina
Roberts (ankle) agreed to a contract Wednesday with the Panthers, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Roberts provided a hint of his next destination Tuesday via his personal Twitter account, posting "Joe Brady" and nothing more. He'll now get to work the Panthers new offensive coordinator, joining a young team that's swapping out Cam Newton for Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback. Assuming there are no major complications from his January ankle injury, the 29-year-old Roberts should be in the mix for Carolina's No. 3 receiver job behind D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel. The occupant of that role in…read more

Recovering from ankle sprain
Roberts suffered an ankle sprain during a 28-12 loss to Tennessee in the divisional round of the playoffs, Clifton Brown of the Ravens' official website reports.
Analysis: Roberts suffered his injury late in the second quarter, finishing with two catches for 30 yards (plus a drop) on four targets. Coach John Harbaugh suggested after the game that the wide receiver wouldn't have been able to play if Baltimore had advanced in the playoffs. In any case, Roberts will turn 29 in February and is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. The Ravens seemed to appreciate his work as a run blocker, but he'll presumably need to battle for his snaps…read more

Two grabs in loss
Roberts caught two of four targets for 30 yards in the divisional-round loss to the Titans.
Analysis: The veteran recorded 21 catches for 271 yards on 35 targets over the course of the regular season and added to that total in the postseason. The Ravens are looking to upgrade their receiving corps in the offseason and build around rookie wideout Marquise Brown. While Roberts offered some marginal value in the offense in 2019, it's entirely possible that the Ravens let him walk in free agency given that he was on a one-year deal.

Catchless in win
Roberts was unable to haul in his only target during Sunday's 28-10 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Sunday snapped Roberts' six-game streak with at least one catch, though it's hard to read too much into a game in which Lamar Jackson and other starters were rested. After a first-round bye, the Ravens will play either the Texans, Bills or Titans in the divisional round. In two games against the Texans and Bills this season, Roberts recorded two catches on five targets for 23 yards and a touchdown.

Nabs two receptions
Roberts caught two of three targets for 23 yards against the Browns.
Analysis: Roberts was the leading receiver among Baltimore wideouts Sunday, but four other Ravens had more receiving yardage than him. With several key starters resting in the season finale, Roberts may have to pick up some of the slack in the passing game against a tough Steelers defense that is fighting for a playoff spot.

Paces pass catchers in win
Roberts secured all three of his targets for 66 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 42-21 win over the Jets on Thursday.
Analysis: Roberts' receiving yards were tops on the Ravens for the night, while his 33-yard touchdown reception late in the third quarter was the fifth-year veteran's second of the season. Roberts has been a bit player in the offense overall with just 19 receptions, but he has the experience and route-running prowess to make an impact when his number is called. Roberts will look to build on his performance versus the Jets in a Week 16 divisional matchup against the Browns a week from Sunday.

Low efficiency against Buffalo
Roberts caught one of four targets for an eight-yard gain Sunday against the Bills.
Analysis: Roberts tied with Willie Snead for the team lead in targets Sunday but was unable to turn those looks into much in terms of production. He has just one multi-reception game since Baltimore's Week 8 bye and is posting just 6.5 yards per target on the year. Roberts and rookie Miles Boykin should see the bulk of the snaps at the left outside receiver spot Thursday against the Jets.

Clear for Week 14
Roberts (knee) is officially active for Sunday's game at Buffalo, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis: Roberts was listed as a full participant at Friday's walkthrough but still received the questionable tag, so it's not a major surprise to see him available Sunday. The 28-year-old should serve in his usual role as a depth wide receiver Week 14 for the Ravens.

Questionable for Week 14
Roberts (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills.
Analysis: Roberts was a full participant in Friday's walk-through practice, so it looks like he's trending toward availability. If he's indeed able to suit up in Buffalo on Sunday, Roberts will play his usual depth role in Baltimore's receiver corps.

Targeted twice in win
Roberts caught one of two targets for five yards during Sunday's 20-17 win over San Francisco.
Analysis: Sunday's game marked the fourth time in his last five games that Roberts was held to one or zero catches. Just one of his five total grabs during that span has gone for a touchdown. He has shown some ability on intermediate routes this season, but lacks consistent targets thanks to a run-heavy offense that keeps two and three tight ends on the field of its wide receivers. Next up Sunday is Buffalo's third-ranked pass defense.

Snags three passes in win
Roberts caught three of four targets for 39 yards during Monday's 45-6 win over the Rams.
Analysis: The Ravens were already leading by two scores in the final minute of the first half when, facing second and long, quarterback Lamar Jackson bought time in the pocket before finding Roberts with a side-arm pass in the flat, resulting in a 16-yard catch-and-run. Baltimore scored on the next play and the rout was on. Roberts' three catches Monday were his most since Week 4, while his 39 yards stand as a season high. It will be tempting to look at the sort of numbers Baltimore has been putting up…read more

Hauls in first score as Raven
Roberts caught a 15-yard touchdown on his lone target Sunday against the Texans.
Analysis: This was Roberts' first touchdown of the year and first reception of any kind since Week 7 in Seattle. It's worth noting that he played a high percentage of the snaps (64 percent) Sunday while rookie Miles Boykin played a mere 33 percent, so it's possible that Roberts is moving into the No.2 role out wide for Baltimore. Still, the Baltimore passing game funnels through Mark Andrews and Marquise Brown. No one else in the offense has a target share greater than 11 percent. Roberts and the Ravens…read more

Unable to snag pass
Roberts was unable to bring in his only target during Sunday's 37-20 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: The Ravens made a statement Sunday against the previously unbeaten Patriots and their dominant defense, but Roberts was unable to join in on the fun. Lamar Jackson is solidifying himself as a force, but his dominance largely comes via his legs and not his arm. He has just two passing touchdowns and one game with more than 165 passing yards during Baltimore's four-game winning streak. For a down-roster receiver like Roberts, that translates to very few opportunities to make a mark on the game.…read more
