Tests positive for COVID-19
Ebron tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Analysis: Ebron previously sat out the Steelers' Week 17 loss to the Browns following his placement on the reserve/COVID-19 list, which came after he was deemed a close contact of an infected person. He cleared all health-related protocols ahead of last weekend's loss to Cleveland in the wild-card round, turning in a productive outing with seven receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets. Though the Steelers' season has now come to an end, Ebron's positive test resulted in the team shutting…read more

Off the COVID list
Ebron has been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Analysis: Ebron landed on the list back on Jan. 2 and sat out the Steelers' regular-season finale against the Browns. In 15 games this past season, the tight end recorded 56 catches (on 91 targets) for 558 yards and five TDs. Now that he's been activated, Ebron should be able to resume his normal role in the offense in Sunday night's playoff opener against Cleveland.

Shifts to COVID-19 list, out Sunday
Ebron was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Ebron is considered a high-risk close contact. As long as he continues to test negative, he'll be available for the first round of playoffs. However, the 27-year-old won't play in the season finale against the Browns, and his absence leaves Vance McDonald and Kevin Rader -- a practice squad elevation -- as the team's only tight ends in Week 17.

Scores fifth touchdown vs. Colts
Ebron (back) caught five of seven targets for 47 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 28-24 win over the Colts.
Analysis: Ebron returned from a minor back injury and showed no ill effects as he finished third on the team in targets and fourth in receiving yardage. He scored his fifth touchdown of the season on a five-yard grab in the fourth quarter, giving his fantasy managers a useful final stat line. Ebron should be a full go for next Sunday's regular-season finale against the Browns and will look to add to his solid numbers in an inviting matchup.

Turns in full practice
Ebron (back) was a full participant during Thursday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Analysis: Ebron needed to be carted to the locker room in Monday's loss to the Bengals after exiting the contest with a back injury, but he's seemingly made a rapid recovery. After sitting out Wednesday's session, Ebron took every rep Thursday, putting himself on track to suit up Sunday against the Colts. Look for Ebron to step back in as the Steelers' top tight end, a role that has translated to 51 receptions for 511 yards and four touchdowns over his 14 appearances on the season.

Starts week as DNP
Ebron (back) didn't practice Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Analysis: Ebron reportedly avoided a serious injury during Monday's loss to the Bengals, but his availability for a Week 16 matchup with the Colts could be in jeopardy. He'll almost certainly need to resume practicing in some capacity Thursday or Friday to have any chance of suiting up Sunday. Vance McDonald could handle an every-down role at tight end if Ebron is forced to miss time, considering that No. 3 option Zach Gentry (knee) is on injured reserve.

Avoids major injury
Ebron didn't suffer any structural or organ damage after he was removed from Monday's 27-17 loss to the Bengals following a hard hit to his back/side area, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Ebron played 10 offensive snaps and failed to corral his lone target, which came in the second quarter when he was sandwiched by two defenders as he waited for the ball to arrive. The tight end was in obvious pain as he left the field and headed to the locker room, but follow-up scans have seemingly revealed nothing too concerning. That said, Ebron could have a tough time returning to action on a short week, with the Steelers set to face the Colts on Sunday. Per Teresa Varley of the Steelers'…read more

Ruled out for remainder of contest
Ebron (back) has been ruled out for remainder of Monday's game against the Bengals, Burt Lauten of the Steelers' official site reports.
Analysis: Ebron was carted to the locker room during the first half of the game after suffering an apparent back injury. Now that Ebron and Derek Watt (concussion) officially are out, look for Vance McDonald to shoulder the load, as he is the only active tight end or fullback left on the roster.

Suffers back injury
Ebron is considered questionable to return after suffering a back injury in Monday's game against the Bengals, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Ebron had to be carted back to the locker room, so any chance of a return is seemingly optimistic at the moment. He was unable to record any receptions prior to exiting. While he's sidelined, look for Vance McDonald to replace Ebron at tight end.

Limited role against Buffalo
Ebron secured two of his five targets for 30 yards in Sunday's 26-15 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Ebron had been targeted 11 times in each of the past two games, but he was less involved against Buffalo. He wasn't targeted in the red zone for just the third time all season, and he was on the field for a season-low 38 offensive snaps. Ebron faces another favorable matchup against Cincinnati in Week 15, but it's unclear whether his role will pick back up because he's been one of several Steelers to struggle with drops recently.

Targeted 11 times versus Washington
Ebron hauled in seven of his 11 targets for 68 yards in Monday's 23-17 loss to Washington.
Analysis: Ebron has now garnered 11 targets in each of the last two weeks, but he struggled with open-field drops once again in Monday's loss. The 2014 first-rounder has still received a significant target share however, even with Vance McDonald active once again. Ebron should have a favorable matchup against Buffalo in Week 14.

Commands 11 targets against Ravens
Ebron recorded seven receptions on 11 targets for 54 yards in the Steelers' 19-14 win over the Ravens on Wednesday.
Analysis: Ebron recorded his first double-digit target contest since Week 10 of the 2019 season. The results weren't particularly spectacular, as he was targeted largely in short areas of the field. While he accounted for Ben Roethlisberger's longest completion on a contested back-shoulder throw that went for 27 yards early in the second quarter, Ebron also recorded four receptions of five or fewer yards. Snares TD in convincing win
Ebron caught four of seven targets for 36 receiving yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 27-3 win against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Ebron helped Pittsburgh shut the door in the fourth quarter, as his 20-yard TD reception with 6:40 to go extended the Steelers' lead to 24 points. The 27-year-old continues to be a TD-dependent fantasy asset, devoid of a single performance this season with more than 52 receiving yards. Four scores in 2020, including three the past four weeks, buoy Ebron's value heading into a matchup against divisional rival Baltimore on Thanksgiving Night.

Logs 38 yards in win
Ebron hauled in two of his six targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 26-10 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Ebron failed to reach the end zone Sunday after scoring in each of the past two weeks, but his target share remained consistent against Cincinnati. The 27-year-old was only able to bring in two of his targets, but he made the most of his chances as he averaged 19.0 yards per catch. Ebron will have another favorable matchup against the Jaguars in Week 11.

Finds end zone again
Ebron caught three of six targets for 22 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-19 win over the Cowboys.
Analysis: The tight end scored the winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter in spectacular fashion, hurdling a would-be tackler just before the goal line on his way to his third TD of the year. Ebron continues to get steady volume, seeing at least four targets and catching multiple passes in every game since Week 2, and he's poised for a big performance in Week 10 against a Bengals defense that had given up the most receiving yards in the league to TEs coming into this week.

Productive against Ravens
Ebron hauled in five of his six targets for 48 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 28-24 win over the Ravens.
Analysis: Ebron was on the field for 87 percent of the Steelers' offensive snaps, and he remained heavily involved in the passing game for a second straight week. The 27-year-old has nearly matched his reception total from last season with the Colts, and he's now topped 40 yards in five of the first seven games of 2020. Back to work Thursday
Ebron (elbow) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Considering that Ebron advanced to full participation one day after not handling any reps in practice, his absence from Wednesday's session was most likely maintenance-related. With his health seemingly intact, Ebron is on track to serve as Pittsburgh's top tight end Week 8, but his fantasy upside may be somewhat muted due to a matchup with a tough Ravens pass defense.

Can't practice Wednesday
Ebron didn't practice Wednesday due to an elbow injury, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Analysis: Ebron is coming off a solid Week 7 game against the Titans, during which he recorded 50 yards on a season-high six receptions. As long as he's able to upgrade to at least limited practice sessions Thursday and Friday, Ebron should have a fair shot at suiting up Sunday in Baltimore. Season-best six catches
Ebron recorded six receptions on eight targets for 50 yards in Week 7 against the Titans.
Analysis: Despite the entirety of the Steelers' receiving corps being healthy to start the game, Ebron posted his highest reception and target total in a game this season. He fell just short of his second touchdown of the campaign when he was tackled at the two-yard line on the team's first offensive possession. Catches two passes in Week 6
Ebron brought in two of his four targets for nine yards in Sunday's 38-7 win over Cleveland.
Analysis: Ebron had logged 40-plus receiving yards in each of his previous three contests, with Sunday's effort marking a season-low yardage total for the tight end. Although the Steelers put up 38 points, the team wasn't forced to do much passing during the second half after jumping out to a sizable lead early on. Practices fully
Ebron (hand) practiced fully Thursday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Analysis: Ebron is thus good to go Sunday against the Browns. He's logged back-to-back five-catch efforts and should continue to see his share of targets in a solid matchup Sunday against a Cleveland squad that's allowed an average of 296.4 passing yards per game to date.

Misses practice with hand injury
Ebron didn't practice Wednesday due to a hand injury.
Analysis: Ebron wasn't known to have been banged up coming out of his five-catch performance in Sunday's win over the Eagles, so the 27-year-old may just be getting some extra maintenance to begin Week 6. The tight end will have two more practices to upgrade to full participation before this weekend's game against the Browns.

Hauls in five passes
Ebron caught five of his six targets for 43 yards while also losing a fumble in Sunday's 38-29 win over the Eagles.
Analysis: Ebron's fumble in the fourth quarter put a slight damper on an otherwise solid performance following the team's Week 4 bye. The 27-year-old has now been targeted at least five times in each of the Steelers' last three contests, while topping 40 yards on each of those occasions. Ebron, who was on the field for 58 of the team's 75 snaps on offense Sunday, should have another favorable matchup against the Browns this coming weekend.

Finds end zone
Ebron caught four of six targets for 38 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 28-21 win over the Texans.
Analysis: Ebron finished second on the team in targets and provided one of the highlights of the day with a 10-yard touchdown catch over a defender in the second quarter. He received another look in the red zone and seemed to step up, especially after Diontae Johnson (concussion) left the game. Ebron reportedly connected well with Ben Roethlisberger during training camp and will now look to build on his best performance of the young season next Sunday against the Titans.

Decent showing in win
Ebron caught three of five targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 26-21 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: Ebron has emerged as Pittsburgh's top pass-catching tight end, outproducing Vance McDonald the first two games this season. He has a decent matchup against Houston in Week 3 but Ebron's fantasy value in most formats appears to be touchdown-dependent.

Inauspicious debut
Ebron caught one pass for 18 yards in the Steelers' 26-16 win over the Giants on Monday.
Analysis: After weeks of debate over who would emerge as the No. 1 tight end for Pittsburgh, neither Ebron nor Vance McDonald were much of a factor all game. Just like McDonald, Ebron was only targeted twice, both coming before halftime. The Steelers have several pass-catching options, and as a result Ebron's fantasy value may be touchdown-dependent.

Completes strong training camp
Ebron (illness) developed his run-blocking skills during training camp and is expected to be a more well-rounded tight end, Bob Labriola of the Steelers' official site reports.
Analysis: Ebron's biggest knocks are his run-blocking skills and the occasional dropped pass, but head coach Mike Tomlin made a deliberate effort to improve Ebron's blocking against some of Pittsburgh's best defenders. The 27-year-old may still lose some reps to Vance McDonald, but being a more well-rounded player should keep him on the field more and increase his fantasy potential after recording 31 receptions for 375 yards and three touchdowns last season.

Dealing with illness
Ebron missed Thursday's practice due to an illness, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: After breaking out with 13 touchdowns in 2018, Ebron was hampered by a preseason ankle injury all of last year, which didn't allow him to play beyond Week 12. Overall, he managed a 31-375-3 line on 52 targets in 11 games in his second season with the Colts. Ebron (ankle) announced via his official Twitter account on Thursday that he has passed his physical.
Analysis: Ebron stated early April that he was still in recovery mode after undergoing procedures on both ankles, but he's now managed to officially pass his physical and resume running and cutting without pain. The 27-year-old was limited by ankle woes during the 11 games he suited up for with the Colts last season, after having previously broken out with a 13-score campaign in 2018. Still in recovery mode
Ebron said he's not yet recovered from surgery on his ankle, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. "If the season started today, I don't think I'd be able to 100 percent perform," Ebron added Thursday.
Analysis: Ebron initially injured his ankle Aug. 4 but played through the pain until Week 12, after which he was shut down for the rest of the campaign. After breaking out for 13 touchdowns in his first year with the Colts in 2018, the aforementioned injury, among other things, contributed to him managing just three TDs last season. Joins Pittsburgh TE corps
Ebron will sign a two-year, $12 million deal with the Steelers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Ebron is bouncing back from procedures in both of his ankles, but evidently the Steelers are comfortable with the way he's progressing and have added another pass-catching weapon for QB Ben Roethlisberger. When healthy, Ebron can be a useful red-zone option, as evidenced by the fact that he scored 17 touchdowns in 27 games over the last two seasons he spent with the Colts.

Unlikely to re-sign with Colts
General manager Chris Ballard doesn't expect Ebron (ankle) to re-sign with the Colts for 2020, Zak Keefer of The Athletic reports. "We'll probably move on," Ballard said Thursday.
Analysis: Ebron scored 17 touchdowns in 27 games throughout a two-year, $13 million contract with Indianapolis, but he caught just 59.9 percent of his targets, in part due to 14 drops. His impressive athleticism ensures he'll draw interest from multiple teams as an unrestricted free agent, though the extent of that interest will partially depend on his recovery from Dec. 4 surgeries on both ankles. Move to IR confirmed
The Colts officially placed Ebron (ankles) on injured reserve Monday.
Analysis: Reports surfaced earlier Monday that Ebron would require season-ending surgery on both ankles, so the move to IR is merely a formality. With Ebron out of the picture, Jack Doyle is the clear No. 1 tight end for the Colts moving forward, while Mo Alie-Cox should be in store for more work in two-tight-end sets. The Colts also added another body at the position in a corresponding move, signing free agent Ross Travis to provide additional depth.

Needs season-ending surgery
Ebron will be placed on injured reserve as he's scheduled to have surgery on both ankles, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Ebron was listed on the injury report for Week 9 and showed up again Week 12, but he hadn't missed any games this season. His absence for the rest of the year should free up more targets for Jack Doyle, while Ebron's snaps (29.6 per game) likely will be divided between some combination of Doyle, Mo Alie-Cox and the Colts' wide receivers. Ebron finishes 2019 with a 31-375-3 receiving line on 52 targets, averaging 4.7 targets and 38.5 yards over 11 games.

Paces pass catchers in Week 12 loss
Ebron (ankle) secured four of five targets for 44 yards in the Colts' 20-17 loss to the Texans on Thursday.
Analysis: Ebron paced the Colts' pass-catching corps in both receptions and receiving yardage, but on a night when Jacoby Brissett threw for just 129 yards, that didn't exactly equate to impressive numbers. The veteran tight end has no fewer than four catches in three straight contests, his most productive multi-game stretch of the campaign. Ebron (ankle) is listed as active for Thursday night's road game against the Texans.
Analysis: Ebron is out there if you need him this week, but it's unclear how close to 100 percent he'll be after being listed as a DNP both Monday and Tuesday. In a timeshare with Jack Doyle, Ebron has been a hit-or-miss fantasy option of late and hasn't found the end zone since Week 7, when he hit pay dirt against Houston in a home tilt, en route to logging a 4-70-1 stat line.

Draws questionable tag
Ebron (ankle) is listed as questionable for Thursday's contest against the Texans.
Analysis: Ebron was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report after missing the week's first two sessions. Labeled non-participant in practice
Ebron (ankle) was listed as a non-participant Tuesday on the Colts' estimated practice report.
Analysis: Due to the short turnaround for the Thursday night game against the Texans, the Colts held a walk-through session Tuesday rather than a traditional practice. With Ebron now garnering a "DNP" designation on the Colts' first two practice reports of Week 12, there's some reason to fear an absence Thursday. Has four receptions Sunday
Ebron had four receptions for 27 yards on four targets in Sunday's win over Jacksonville.
Analysis: A week after getting 12 targets, but making just five receptions, Ebron saw his involvement in the passing game dialed back a bit. He played on just 43 percent of the offense's snaps (27 of 66), down from 61 percent the week before. Just two receptions Sunday
Ebron had two receptions for 16 yards on two targets in Sunday's 26-24 loss at Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Ebron played just 24 snaps on offense (compared to Jack Doyle's 54 snaps) as he didn't see a big increase in playing time despite the absence of T.Y. Hilton (calf). Ebron remains a red-zone target, but he's a boom-or-bust fantasy option due to few consistent targets.

Good to go this week
Ebron (ankle) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Steelers.
Analysis: Ebron -- who has logged 29 targets in seven games to date -- has been a hit-or-miss fantasy option this season while being stuck in a timeshare at tight end with Jack Doyle. The 26-year-old has at least bolstered his value with three touchdowns to date, and it's possible there will be room for both tight ends to feast in the coming weeks with top wideout T.Y. Hilton slated to miss time with a calf injury.
